The 9eSIM ecosystem is incredibly powerful, but operating systems like Apple’s iOS have strict security protocols that block third-party applications from writing data directly to a physical SIM card inside the phone’s tray.

If you are an iPhone user, you cannot download an eSIM profile directly to the 9eSIM while it is inside your phone. The USB-C Card Reader is the master key that solves this. By taking the 9eSIM out of your phone, placing it in the reader, and plugging it into your USB-C port, you create a direct, unhindered bridge to write your profiles securely.

(Note: Most Android 10+ devices do not require this reader and can write profiles natively. However, many Android power users still prefer the reader for desktop management).
